Yes, SmartDeploy does permit this, and it will often work fine on devices that meet the Windows 11 hardware specifications. But we recommend testing, and we cannot guarantee success with a mismatched driver set.
In order to deploy Windows 11 to a computer, the model must meet the system requirements for Windows 11:

Not all computers that meet the Windows 11 hardware specifications have a complete set of Windows 11 drivers available from the hardware manufacturer. With this in mind, SmartDeploy (3.0.1020 or later) allows you to deploy a Windows 11 image to any computer using a Windows 10 Platform Pack.
If you are deploying a Windows 11 image to an endpoint, and both a Windows 10 and a Windows 11 Platform Pack for the model is available in your Platform Packs directory, then the Windows 11 pack will be used.
If you are deploying a Windows 11 image to an endpoint, and only a Windows 10 pack is available, then the Windows 10 pack will be used.
We cannot guarantee that a Windows 10 pack will function properly with Windows 11, but many drivers are compatible in this way. Platform Packs containing newer Windows 10 drivers are more likely to be compatible with Windows 11, and you can request that an existing Platform Pack be updated to the latest Windows 10 driver versions by submitting a Platform Pack Request.
