Requesting the creation of a new Platform Pack is considered a support request and is subject to the terms of your support agreement. Platform Pack creation fees are based on the computer model and your current support level.
SmartDeploy offers different pricing tiers, with some Platform Packs included in a Free Tier while others have associated costs depending on the device category.
Request a New Platform Pack
- To complete your request, we need information about the computer for which you are requesting a Platform Pack. Download the VBS script and save it to the computer for which you are requesting a Platform Pack.
- Double-click the wmi.vbs file on the computer for which you are requesting a Platform Pack, and the script will generate a wmi.txt file. Note: This script needs to be run when all the device drivers are installed.
- Include the wmi.txt file as an attachment when you complete the Platform Pack Request form.
- Complete all the required fields in the Platform Pack Request form.
If any Platform Pack fee is required, we will respond with a quote, and we will not proceed with building the pack until you have agreed to purchase it, so you do not need to worry about incurring unexpected charges simply by submitting the form. If we require any additional information, or if it will not be possible to create the requested pack for any reason, you will be contacted by SmartDeploy Support.
All Platform Pack requests will be built in the order received. SmartDeploy Support will create the Platform Pack for you and alert you when it is ready to download. Production time will vary based on request volume and pack complexity, but is typically a minimum of 5-10 business days.
Platform Pack Updates
SmartDeploy does not proactively update existing Platform Packs. If you need an updated Platform Pack for your device, you must submit a specific request through the Platform Pack request process, providing details about your exact model and current version. Please request all Platform Pack updates using the Platform Pack Request form.
