Watch this video for a walkthrough of how to create a custom Platform Pack and add a few drivers.
The correct link for the support form can be found in the Request a New Platform Pack article - simply select Platform Pack Request in the Type dropdown, and the link to download the wmi.vbs script will appear. Depending on the drivers and the manufacturer, creating a custom Platform Pack can be a lengthy and challenging task. If you want us to build the Platform Pack for you, go ahead and submit the wmi.txt file via the form.
Creating a custom Platform Pack is recommended as a temporary solution when:
- An official Platform Pack is not yet available for your specific hardware
- You're waiting for an official Platform Pack to be released
- You need an immediate deployment solution for new device models
- You have hardware with different configurations (such as varying processor types)
After creating a custom Platform Pack, it's recommended to test it on a new computer before widespread deployment to verify that all drivers and configurations work correctly. This approach allows you to proceed with your imaging and deployment needs while waiting for an official Platform Pack release.
